What sports are supported?

Ice and roller. Profiles, teams and leagues can each be marked as one or both, and discovery can be filtered by sport. Most roller players are hockey players — plenty play both, and plenty play roller because the nearest sheet of ice is an hour away — so marking both puts you in both searches. What is beer league hockey?

Beer league hockey is adult recreational ice hockey. Players of every ability, from former junior skaters to people who learned to skate at 35, play organized league games at local rinks, usually in the late evening slots, with referees, standings and playoffs but no bodychecking. Nobody is paid to play. Everyone pays to play, and the beer afterwards is part of the ritual and the name.

It goes by rec hockey, adult league or senior hockey depending on the rink and the country. Whatever the label, it is where most adult hockey in the world happens, and it is the only sport BeerLeague.net is built for. Read the complete guide.
